***Chapter Eleven***

***Kevin’s POV***

Miley came running up to me talking really fast and panting.

“Whoa, slow down. What’s wrong?” I asked holding her shoulders and shaking her to get her to calm down.
“It’s Nick! He’s unconscious! Kacee, said to get you to pull the car around and get your parents! We have to get him to a hospital NOW!” she said in between breaths.
“What? Okay, okay. Go get Joe and get in the car. But first find Kandece and Hillary they’ll help you get Nick in the car. I’ll go get my parents,” I said hurriedly running off to find my parents. I ran around the whole venue for what felt like three hours looking for my parents until I finally found them on stage right.
“Mom! Dad!” I yelled.
“Kevin! Where have you been? Where are your brothers? Where’s Kacee? The show starts in five minutes!” said my dad.
“Dad! It’s Nick. Kacee said that he’s unconscious. We have to get him to a hospital. He’s outback with Kacee and the rest of the guys. We’ll just have to reschedule. Right now, my brother is the only person I care about so can we please go?!”
My parents just stared at me for a second. Frankie came running up with our bodyguard.
“Hey, keep Frankie here. Can you watch him for us?” I asked.
“Yeah, sure. You got it, Kevin.”

I ran as fast as I could to the back of the venue and out the back door. They were loading Nick into the SUV. Kacee was sitting in the back with him trying to stay as calm as possible. She must have witnessed it so that is why she is so shaken up. My dad took the wheel and my mom sat in the passenger seat. Then the rest of us minus Kacee and Nick piled into the back like a clown act. It took like five minutes to get to the hospital at the speed that my dad was going. When we got there Joe ran in and three guys came running out with a stretcher. They loaded Nick onto a stretcher and rushed him into the hospital. We followed them inside. My mom went with the guys with the stretcher and my dad filled out the registration forms and we all sat and waited.
“What do we do now?” asked Hillary.

“We wait,” I answered.

“I need to move. I can’t be sitting here and thinking about all the bad things that could be happening to my brother,” Joe said as he stood up, “Hillary? Do you want to come with me to go get something to drink?”

“Sure, I’ll go. I can’t just sit here and wait either,” she said following Joe into the elevator. I looked over at Kacee. She was sitting on the other side of the waiting room with her head down and her hands covering her eyes. Something was really, really wrong with her.

“Kacee?” I asked her gently.

“Yeah,” she said quietly.

“Can I sit down?”

“Sure.” She sounded like she had been crying. I didn’t say anything.

“I yelled at him,” she finally spoke but still not looking up, “I don’t want him to hate me.”

“Kacee. Are you crazy? Nick could never hate you. He loves you more than anything. Sometimes, I think he loves you more than I love Kandece.” Woops! That slipped out.

“You love Kandece?”

“Well, yeah.”

“Why don’t you ever say anything to her? She likes you to, you know.”

“She does?”

“Duh. Can’t you tell?”

“Nope. I’m a guy. We’re not very good at that stuff.” Kacee laughed. Good! That’s what I wanted.

“Tell her,” Kacee said after she stopped crying and laughing.

“I can’t.”

“Yes, you can.”

“Alright, I will. But on one condition.”

“What?”

“You tell Nick how you REALLY feel.”

“But-”

“You can do it, you’re the strongest person I know. C’mon Kace.”

“He’s going to make it through this isn’t he?”

“I know he will. It’ll be alright.”

“Are you sure?”

“Positive.”

***Ten Minutes Later***

***Kacee’s POV***

The doctor came out to talk to us.
“Jonas family?” she asked.

“Yes, that’s us,” said Joe standing up.

“Hello, I’m Dr. Boehlert,” she said shaking all of our hands.

“Nice to meet you. Now, can you please tell me what is wrong with my son?” said Mrs. Jonas.

“Oh, yes. Well, we are still running some test but from what we’ve gathered so far is that Nick’s insulin balance is out of whack and he is in a diabetic coma. Now, don’t worry. It completely curable. He should come out of it in a couple of hours or days at most. But he needs to refrain from physical activity and get lots of rest until his insulin level is back to normal.”

“So, can we see him?” I asked.

“One at a time.”

“Thank you. Go ahead, Mrs. Jonas. He needs his mom,” I said.

“No, no honey. You go see him. He needs you now more than ever. Go on,” said Mrs. Jonas nudging me. I started to feel my eyes water. I blinked back my tears and started walking towards Nick’s room. It was strange to think that the last time I was at a hospital my mom was dying. As I came into Nick’s room a nurse was walking out and that’s when I saw Nick.

Omg this story is so good !!!!
I hope nick gets better!!!
