Chapter 23

I tried and tried to go to sleep but I just couldn't. I got up and walked outside on the balcony with my cell phone in my hands. I sighed and opened my phone. I dialed Kyles cell number. After a few runs, he answered.

"Hello?" he said.

"Hey Kyle." I said almost in a whisper.

"Chris, you okay? It's like 4:00 a.m. Oh did you get my text I'm here in Cali too?"

"Yeah, I got it Kyle. Um, sorry to wake you."

"It's fine. You okay." He asked. Tears rushed to my eyes.

"Chris, somethings wrong isn't it?"

"Can you come get me Kyle?" I cried.

"I'll be their in a minuet okay. Meet me out front okay."

"Okay bye." I said and hung up my phone. I whiped my tears away and silently walked back into the room. I grabbed a t-shirt and shorts and a key. I walked out and made my way down to the lobby. A few minuets later, Kyle pulled up in a Mustang. I jumped in. He didn't say a word, he just drove off.

"Thank you Kyle."

"No problem. What's wrong?"

"Joey and me got in a fight...."

"Did he hurt you?" he said angrily.

"If you meant he hit me no."

"He better not."

"Well he didn't Kyle. But, today he asked me if I would marry him." I said. Kyle's driving got slower and I kept on talking.

"I was going to tell him yes. But when I didn't answer on the spot, he got pissed and yelled at me. I felt so embarassed, especially right their on the beach. I went back up to the room and he threw my suitcase againsted the wall. But for some reason, I gave in and forgave him."

"Christy, I'm sorry. But if he does that to you, you dont deserve him. You deserve way better." he said.

"Come on, you can stay in my room tonight." he parked his car and we got out. We walked to his room in silence.

"Is Bianca here with you?" I asked. He threw his keys on the table as we walked in.

"Me and Bianca broke up." he said sitting down on the bed.

"I'm sorry." I said. He stood up and smiled.

"I guess we both deserve better I guess." I didn't even want to go into details on why they broke up.

"Come on, you look tired." he pulled the covers back on the bed.

"I'll sleep on the couch."

"Kyle, no. That isn't right."

"Want me to sleep in the floor?" he laughed.

"No. It's okay if you sleep with me.

"Whatever you say." he said and we got in bed.

"Promise me Chris." Kyle whispered in my ear. I turned over and looked at him.

"What?"

"Dont ever let Joey hurt you."

"Kyle, you dont have to worry about that." I assured him. He put his thumb on cheek.

"I couldn't stand to loose you." he said and pulled me closer to him.

"Kyle, you want ever loose me." I said. 'What does he mean?' He was an inch from my face and before I knew it, he kissed me.
