ohhh.
awesome thanks !! you guys that posted some tips get credit too :] ohh and i added a new tip at the bottom of the writers sec. - make your fan fics cleann. note that there are people younger than you, and if you write dirty stuff youre only filling their minds with junkk. so before you post your fan fic trying putting up a rating and the age number it goes. so the reader knows how it will be and theyre reading at their own caution. ^^thats the new tip =] This message has been edited. and i'll take an even further step..."It's" and "Its" are 2 different things as well: "It's" is short for 'It is' or 'It was' [usually the former, though] (e.g. "It's a bird! I swear!"). "Its" shows possession (e.g. 'The dog wagged its tail.'). only when you name the object/person then " 's " will show possession (e.g. "The book's pages are torn." or "Eric's shoes are glued to the floor.") and just like the quote above this says, i don't mean to offend anyone. it's only to help get the meaning across quicker This message has been edited. This is a really good thread, and I'm glad you posted this Bianca! I'm putting this in my sig so other people can read it=] Oh, and just to emphasize the ones that I couldn't agree with more[I agree with all of them, but these definitely stood out!]
It totally annoys me when people don't tell me what chapter it is, because I read a lot of fan fics and it's hard to remember what chapter everyone is on;]
I couldn't agree more. I mean, some people have really nasty things in their fan fics, and they shouldn't be there in the first place but if you must put it in there, at least rate it.
Comments are always appreciated by the writer
very true.
that is such a good point, I was just thinking the same thing the other day.
thank you SOOOO much for saying that=] Okay anyway Bianca great idea, everyone should read this! |

Or, if you do have things in the fanfics that aren't suitable for young ears, state so in the title.
I dunno...that's how it worked on other boards. I've written some x-rated fiction before on other msg boards a few years ago, but always had that warning. Most of the people on the board did, too, including the moderator, so it was cool. But this board is different. |

i've noticed this in a lot of fics, but can i just say that ethan's eyes are NOT brown or hazel. i can't really describe the colors, but they are like a blueish gray or something like that. i dunno it just really bugs me when people mess up the guys' physical appearances.

oh i was just reading something and i noticed something very annoying.
DO NOT USE SUPER CHOPPY SENTENCES & MAKE YOUR STORY FLOW. it's very annoying when your sentences are choppy and the story doesn't flow. it gives me a migraine when i read choppy sentences or things that don't flow & PLEASE KNOW YOUR DIFFERENCE BETWEEN "ALOUD" and "ALLOWED". surprisingly, there IS a difference. ALOUD - as to be heard ALLOWED - admit or concede/grant. |
