yeah. jeff and david were funny acting like that. and chuck...haha. and when seb showed up i was like "AWE SEBBY!" haha he makes me say awe because hes so cute. anyways. i think pierre was the funniest though.

and he looked MIGHTY FINE. i think i dropped an f-bomb when i saw him. yep.

Part 6B

It's dark out and Faye hasn't come back.

Joey is worried sick. He saw Pierre come back around lunch time then he packed and left in his car. Joey didn't worry too much about him. He doesn't really care that much. He only cares for Faye.

He's standing in the middle of the hiking trail shivering and teeth chattering. The temperature drops the darker it gets. He's worried that he'll find her hurt and freezing and he doesn't want that. She's his best friend. He'd do anything to protect her. Even staying out here in the cold all night. He's already been out here since this morning.

"FAYE!" he shouts. He's desperate. She cut her cell phone off a few hours ago. So there's no use in him calling her on the phone. He stuffs his hands further into the pockets of his jacket and calls out again. All he hears is the footsteps of Ethan, Ben, and Kyle. Joe volunteered to stay at home with the girls and kids.

Come on, Faye. Please. Joey thinks desperately and he even wants to cry.

"FAYE! WHERE ARE YOU?!" he shouts even louder. "Faye, please." he whispers and starts walking.

Five minutes later there's footsteps ahead of Joey. He perks up and starts running, hoping and praying it's Faye. But it isn't. It's just a deer. It bolts off deeper into the forest and Joey kicks up some snow in frustration. He keeps walking and walking until it's so dark he can't see his own hand in front of his face. He digs out the flashlight he brought with him and clicks it on.

The beam of light illuminates the area in front of him. Joey stops. Faye is standing there, poised midstep. Her face shows shock and she turns around sharply. She starts out in a fast walk then breaks out into a run. "Faye, wait!" Joey calls and runs after her. Since he's much taller his longer legs carry him faster and farther. He catches up to her in no time.

He grabs her by the elbow, ready to hold on in case she tries to get away again. But she surprises him by throwing her arms around his waist and sobbing into his jacket. He immediately wraps his arms around her, too, and holds her shaking body. She's shivering from the cold and shaking from the sobs and heartbreak.

Joey doesn't know how long they stand there. She continues to cry, hard. That's the first time in a long time that he's seen her cry this bad. He can't even remember the last time she cried like this. He figures she must be pretty damn heartbroken over Pierre to be crying like this. "Joey," she sobs then takes a shuddering breath, "take me home."

Joey ends up carrying her back to the cabin. The other three are already back at the cabin and when they see Joey walk through the front door with her in his arms they freak out. She knows they're all worried but she buries her face deeper into his neck.

"Is she okay?!" Ethan asks frantically.

Joey nods and walks through the house and upstairs. He walks into her bedroom and sets her on the bed. She clings to his jacket, not wanting to let him go. "Faye." he whispers and gently takes her hands in his. They're freezing. "I'll put your things in the car. You get under the blankets and warm up. Okay?"

She can only nod and then more tears start to fall. She doesn't bother to wipe them away; more will fall. She silently watches as Joey goes around the room packing her things for her. She feels so helpless but she feels like she's frozen on the spot at the same time.

She feels lonely.

The door opens and Amanda and Megan run in to Faye. They hug her and she hugs them back tightly. They sit there with her and just stay. No words need to be said. They know their friend like they know their own selves.

"I'm taking her home." Joey tells them when they get up to leave. He walks to the door with them and they stand in the hallway.

"Is she going to be okay?" Amanda asks and she peeks over Joey's shoulder at her friend. She's crying again.

"I don't know. He really hurt her." Joey feels the anger building up but forces it down. "She wants to go home tonight. I guess you guys can stay here until the week is up. I don't know." He shrugs and quickly glances over his shoulder.

She hasn't gotten under the covers like he asked her to do. She doesn't want to move even to get warm. She's not that cold. That or she's just too numb to feel anything but a broken heart. He shakes his head and looks back to the two girls.

"We'll tell the others." Megan says and they turn to leave.

"Thanks."

Joey leaves the door and starts picking her bags up. "Joey."

He stops and looks at her. "Yeah?"

"Thank you." She won't look at him.

"I'm taking your things to the car." With that he walks out and downstairs.

Joey unlocks the door to Faye's house and lets her walk in first. He follows behind and sets her things on the floor. She just stands there and looks around like she hasn't been home in years. He feels a stab of pity at the distant look in her eyes and on her face.

She couldn't stop crying on the ride here. She kept trying to hold the sobs in but Joey could hear the slips. He held her hand in his and didn't say a word to her. He just let her be.

He doesn't know what to do now. He's trying to decide if he should just leave or stay with her. He doesn't want to leave her but he doesn't want to crowd her either.

"I'll just go." he says quietly and opens the front door.

She's on him in a second. "Don't leave me, Joey! Please?" She pleads with her watery eyes. "Stay with me?" That's the only reassurance Joey needs that she wants him here.

He smiles and closes the door. He turns to her and pulls her petite frame into a bear hug. She actually laughs. "You laughed!" he cheers and swings her around. She squeals and holds onto him tightly. His heartbeat rapidly increases and he stops, pulling away fast. "Sorry." he mutters.

Faye sighs and goes back to hugging him. She's happy her best friend is here with her. She doesn't know what she would do without him in her life. She said the same thing about Pierre when he first told her I love you.

Tears spring to her eyes and she buries her face in Joey's jacket. He's warm and comfortable and here. She breathes him in, holding on even tighter. "I'm going to bed." she whispers and pulls away.

Joey nods and takes off his jacket and shoes. He follows her up the stairs and to her bedroom. He waits while she goes to the bathroom to change into her pajamas. When she comes out she goes straight to the bed and just stands there to stare at it. He knows what she's thinking. Pierre was the last person in that bed with her. He sees the tears start flowing and she breaks down again. He runs to her, catching her when her knees buckle.

"I want him back." she cries. "Get him back, Joey."

Joey closes his eyes, heart stinging with those words. She wants Pierre and only Pierre. As much as it hurts him he can't deny her happiness. "I will. I promise."
