The whole thing about being born gay. People don't just decide one day they want to be gay. It's how they feel, because I'm not sure if you've noticed... but everyone has emotions?
And I don't know if any of you guys watch the Real World. But a few seasons ago there was a guy who was gay, but extremely religious. And his family wouldn't accept him because he was gay. And even he wasn't sure if he could go to church anymore because of the way he felt. However, he couldn't just become straight.
So, you can't say it's crap that people are born gay. Because you honestly don't know what some people are going through.

Oh yeah I remember him. Can't remember what his name was but he was kicked out of his religion for being gay (I think that's the guy?)

I honestly do not mind the gays at all. I know quite a few gay people and they're some of the nicest people I know. One of them happens to be a coworker and friend of mine and I get along better with her than some of my other friends. Same goes with a couple of the gay guys that come into my store. One is the absolute nicest guy ever and we get along great. My religion also does not like homosexuality, but the way I see it is that they have a right to be happy.

You can't deny a person of their happiness

I don't think you're born gay nor do I think you choose to be gay.

It's all about your heart. I don't think I have EVER looked at a guy and been like "I'm going to have a crush on him" and then developed a crush. My heart has always decided for me. With gays, their hearts just choose people of the same sex to love. You're not born loving a person you may date/marry one day, so I think it's completely crazy to think that you're born gay.

That doesn't necessarily make it okay in my eyes, nor does it make me less grossed out by it, but that's reason enough for me to treat them the same as anyone else. I have a gay cousin and I've always treated him the same as my other cousins. I'd never wish harm to a gay person for what they like, but I also don't think I'd ever approve of it either.

There are homosexuals I know that are still Christian/Catholic and I know that is one of the religions against it. There are people out there that believe in a religion but not all parts of it. That's how I am. I don't believe everything the church tells me. To me, that's kind of the same thing as a dictatorship. I want to believe what I want to believe, and if that means that there are things that are in the bible that I don't believe, then that's how it is. And if the God you believe in didn't want homosexuals living here, they would not be here. I'm pretty sure the bible talks about accepting diversity, but at the same time frowns upon homosexuals. I never understood that. How would you feel if there was a religion against everyone who wasn't homosexual?

Girl, I don't get this. I don't think you can claim you're Christian and then say you don't believe everything the Bible tells you. I mean, I know you want to form your own opinion, but if you're a Christian, then the Bible is your only guideline to living a Christian life. So, if you don't take the entire Bible into consideration, I don't think you can call yourself a true Christian. And I know, the Bible was written in the day when women were property and all of it has changed now, but homosexuality was directly disapproved by God and that will never change.

Oh, and on the topic that he wouldn't put gay people on the world if he didn't want them...God is not the only one that acts upon the world. Satan actually has control over the earth and people have to have faith in God to fight that off. God wouldn't want things like tornadoes to happen and he wouldn't want someone to murder another, but the devil has a huge role in things like that.

Just sayin'.

Hahahahahahahaha, no. I was just contradicting her example about how God wants them here.

He loves all his children, no matter what the sin. But he didn't want the sin to happen in the first place.
