i agree with you. but there are signed artists out there who sell even less than click does. Since this is Eric's thread, let's discuss his girlfriend Lucy. She's been signed to Island, I believe, for quite awhile. Her album was supposed to be out about 87 years ago. She's not doing any shows. Yet, her label still supports her.

Meanwhile, Click is touring. They landed a high profile tour with Hilary Duff. Not exactly my choice of an artist, but a huge tour nonetheless, exposing them to an entirely new crowd. This is most definately a form of promotion. When they do their meet and greets, a portion of the sales from their merch will go to Atlantic.

I dont know if you know what a promoter does, but its a company that essentially puts together a large venue tour. It hires the artist, books the venue and sets everything up for the tour, and their goal is to make a profit or break even. All the ticket sales go to them, and the artists and the labels.

So in short, while sales may not be skyrocketing, as long as the guys make money for the label, they'll be good.

Yea, but I don't know if Lucy is a good example. SHe was signed, but she had not released anything yet. The whole point is that once you are signed, you have to deliver. Now that her album is out, we will see whether it delivers. But with TC5, I am afraid the record company sees there losing sales as a bad sign. I dunno.... i just worry for their future.

is there really anyone on Atlantic thats making any sales?

Ya Atlantic isnt really the best choice for a record label they dont really promote the artists as ,uch as labels like Island and Hollywood Records does

they should build a street team system like Islands. Theirs is really good. Lots of things to do and you get a free tickets to cover shows.
